Unionville Museum celebrates Andrew Carnegie's gift

The Unionville Museum, 15 School Street, Unionville, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Andrew Carnegie's gift to Unionville with an exhibit opening Sunday, August 13, 2017.

Carnegie was a wealthy industrialist in the late 19th & early 20th century who sold his steel company and became a philanthropist.  He gave Unionville the funds from his foundation to build the West End Branch library which opened in early 1917.  He passed away 2 years later in 1919

The exhibit will contain many artifacts relating to the era around 1917.  The exhibit will be open from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, August 13 with a reception.  All are invited and admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.  The exhibit will run through November 5th on Sundays, Saturdays, & Wednesdays from 2pm-4pm
