Public Tour of Historic Unionville Properties

PUBLIC TOUR OF HISTORIC UNIONVILLE PROPERTIES SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 30
The public is invited to a tour of historic Unionville properties on Sunday, September 30, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm, hosted by the Unionville Historic District and Properties Commission. The tour is free, but registration is required through www.tourunionville.eventbrite.com.
The event will include a guided walk-through of portions of three of the town’s historic districts, as well as tours of the interiors of four houses. Owners of the highlighted houses will talk about the history, preservation, and renovations made to their homes. The event will conclude with refreshments at The Norman Gridley House, located on the banks of the Farmington River.
The highlighted historic houses will include: The Daniel Johnson House, built 1844; The Frank Sanford House, 1884; The George & Edward Thompson House, 1884; and, The Norman Gridley House, ca. 1889.
The Unionville Historic District and Properties Commission was established by the Town of Farmington in 2008 with the purpose of preserving and protecting the distinctive character and streetscape of the village. The volunteer commission currently protects six historic districts and seven historic properties in Unionville.
