BRICKYARD ROAD PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT FARMINGTON, CT

PROJECT NO. L051-0002

Sealed bids for the “Brickyard Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project” will be accepted by the Town of Farmington at the Department of Finance, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032, until 12:00 noon. local time, on July 8, 2019 at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Prior to the public opening of the bids, any bid submitted may be withdrawn by the bidder. Any such bid withdrawal may be made without penalty or prejudice. After the bids are opened, all bids will be considered firm for a period of ninety (90) days and no bid may be withdrawn for any reason during that period except for such cause as the Town of Farmington, at its sole discretion, deems sufficient.

The project consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the milling and paving of approximately 5,000 feet of Brickyard Road, from approximately 100' north of Farmington Ave to approximately one hundred feet past Wildwood Road. Work includes replacement of catch basins, drainage tops, milling, new bituminous curb, topsoil and turf establishment, pavement markings; and other work as described in the Contract Documents.

Contractor shall be responsible for payment of not less than the State prevailing wage rates, as specified in the Contract Documents.

Each BID shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank, trust or surety company made payable to the Town of Farmington in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bidder’s BID. Any addendum acknowledgment shall also be submitted with the bid.

Interested persons may examine the bid documents at the Engineering Office, Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. Copies of the bid documents may be obtained at the Finance Office, Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays, upon a non-refundable payment of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per set.  Checks shall be made payable to the Town of Farmington.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on June 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032. Questions regarding the project should be addressed in writing to Russell Arnold P.E., Town Engineer, Department of Public Works, Town of Farmington, 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032 and must be submitted no later than ten (10) calendar days before the bid opening date.

The Town of Farmington reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any or all informalities or technical defects, and to award the contract to the bidder whose bid is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

This contract is subject to State of Connecticut set-aside and contract compliance requirements. The successful Bidder is required to comply with the provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972, Executive Orders 3, 17, 11246, 11375, 11478, State of Connecticut Set Aside Requirements and, if applicable, the Connecticut Fair Employment Practice law.
