The Land Acquisition Committee is a sub-committee of the Town Council that was established in 1998 and has the purpose of acquiring land or interest in land for the preservation of open space, municipal purposes, or active recreational use. The Committee is comprised of a Town Council member as Chair, two representatives from the Conservation Commission and two representatives from the Farmington Land Trust. The Committee coordinates with the Conservation Commission to maintain a list of properties to be considered for open space that conforms to the procedures as adopted by the Town Council.
