GOOD FRIDAY TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTIONS:

There will be normal collections of trash and recyclables on Good Friday, March 30, 2018.

 

TUNXIS MEAD COMPOST AREA - Tunxis Mead Road, Farmington:

Effective Saturday, March 24, 2018, the Tunxis Mead Compost Area is now open from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon),  on SATURDAYS, besides Wednesdays (year-round), weather permitting,  The gate closes promptly at noon.  Residents may bring leaves and brush directly to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area, which is located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road.  Also residents may pick up leaf compost and wood mulch from the Composting Area.  Landscapers and contractors are not allowed to pick up this material.  Please call 860-675-2550, during inclement weather.  Thank you

BULKY WASTE COLLECTION:

For residents who have trash collection by the Town's contractor, the next Town-wide bulky waste collection week will be Monday, April 2nd through Friday, April 6th (on your day for trash pickup).  For additional information please download:  www.farmington-ct.org   Thank you.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE & ELECTRONIC RECYCLING:

The Town of Farmington is working the towns of Avon, Canton, Granby and Simsbury, to provide free Household Hazardous Waste Collections.  The collections will run from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., and will be open to all residents of these towns.  Farmington residents will no longer be able to participate in any of the MDC household hazardous waste collections.  The 2018 Household Hazardous Waste / Electronic Recycling / & Shredding, Saturday Collection Dates are scheduled for:

  • April 21, 2018 @ Farmington High School, 10 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT
  • June 9, 2018 @ Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury, CT
  • October 27, 2018 @ Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury, CT

On the same dates and locations listed above, there will also be FREE collections for residents of Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury for:

  •  Electronics Recycling Collection
  • Used Motor Oil Collection
  • Simsbury Dates & Location ONLY:  Personal document shredding:  SPECIAL HOURS: 8:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M., OR UNTIL THE TRUCK IS FULL; PLEASE LIMIT YOURSELF TO 2 BOXES.
