LABOR DAY TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTIONS:There will be normal collections of trash and recyclables on Labor Day, September 3, 2018.
TUNXIS MEAD COMPOST AREA - Tunxis Mead Road, Farmington:
The Tunxis Mead Compost Area will be open on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Normal hours of operation are: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon), Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting, The gate closes promptly at noon. Residents may bring leaves and brush directly to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area, which is located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road. Also residents may pick up leaf compost and wood mulch from the Composting Area. Landscapers and contractors are not allowed to pick up this material. Please call 860-675-2550, during inclement weather.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE & ELECTRONIC RECYCLING:
The Town of Farmington is working the towns of Avon, Canton, Granby and Simsbury, to provide free Household Hazardous Waste Collections. The collections will run from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., and will be open to all residents of these towns. Farmington residents will no longer be able to participate in any of the MDC household hazardous waste collections.
The Final 2018 Household Hazardous Waste / Electronic Recycling / & Shredding, Saturday Collection Date will be:
- November 3, 2018 (NOTE: revised date from October 27, 2018) @ Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury, CT
On the same dates and locations listed above, there will also be FREE collections for residents of Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury for:
- Electronics Recycling Collection
- Used Motor Oil Collection
- Personal document shredding: SPECIAL HOURS: 8:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M., OR UNTIL THE TRUCK IS FULL; PLEASE LIMIT YOURSELF TO 2 BOXES.
BULKY WASTE COLLECTION:
For residents who have trash collection by the Town's contractor, the next Town-wide bulky waste collection week will be Monday, October 15th through Friday, October 19th (on your normal trash collection day). For additional information please download: www.farmington-ct.org
