COLUMBUS DAY WASTE AND RECYCLABLE COLLECTIONS:

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collections by the Town's contractor, there will be normal collections on Day, Monday, October 9, 2017.

TUNXIS MEAD COMPOST AREA - Tunxis Mead Road, Farmington:

The Tunxis Mead Compost Area WILL BE OPEN Saturday, October 7, 2017.  This area is open 8 a.m. - 12 noon Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting.  The gate closes promptly at noon.  Residents may bring leaves and brush directly to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area, which is located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road.  Also residents may pick up leaf compost and wood mulch from the Composting Area.  Landscapers and contractors are not allowed to pick up this material.  Please call 860-675-2550, during inclement weather.  Thank you

BULKY WASTE COLLECTION:

For residents who have trash collection by the Town's contractor, the next Town-wide bulky waste collection week will be:  Monday, October 16th through Friday, October 20th (on your day for trash pickup).  For additional information please download:   http://www.farmington-ct.org/departments/highway-grounds/bulk-waste-collection  

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE, ELECTRONIC RECYCLING & SHREDDING EVENTS:

The Town of Farmington is happy to announce that we are working with the Towns of Avon, Canton, Granby and Simsbury to provide free Household Hazardous Waste Collections.  The final collection will run from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and will be open to all residents of these towns.  The one (1) remaining collection date and location for the 2017 year is scheduled for:

  • Saturday, October 28, 2017 @ Simsbury Public Works Facility, 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury

Also on the same date and location listed above, there will also be Free Collections for:

  • Electronics Recycling
  • Used Motor Oil

Personal document shredding - special hours:  8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., or until the truck is full (please limit yourself to, two (2) boxes).
