Youth Basketball League
Farmington Recreation's youth basketball leagues for children in grades 3 - 8 will meet November through February. Registration for 2013 - 2014 Youth Recreation Basketball will be available in September 2013. Youth trying out for Travel Basketball MUST be registered to tryout. Junior Basketball was developed as an introduction to the game of basketball for youth in grades 1 & 2. Sessions will focus on the development of basic skills and the team concept. Those in second grade will be introduced to game play in a 3.vs.3 format.
Youth Soccer League
Boys and girls from kindergarten through age fourteen, excluding ninth graders, are eligible. Practices are scheduled once during the week in the early evening hours, and games are held at Tunxis Mead Park on Saturdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registration for the Spring 2013 Youth Soccer Program will begin on February 1st and will be accepted through February 28th. Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis through March 15th with an additional late fee.

Farmington Valley Field Hockey League
The Farmington Valley Field Hockey League will consist of teams from Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Granby, and Simsbury.
Farmington Recreation will sponsor one 5-6th grade team and one 7-8th grade team. Farmington residents entering grades 5 through 8 are eligible to play in Farmington. Practices will be scheduled once during the week in the early evening hours, and games will be held at Farmington High School on Sundays between the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. 2012 Girls Field Hockey registration will be available in July.
This is a Recreation League that requires travel to away games. Each player is responsible for their own Field Hockey Stick, Cleats, Mouth Guard, Shin Guards, Eye Protection, etc. A reversible game jersey will be provided. The 7-8th grade team will play 11 v. 11 (The Town of Farmington will provide goalie equipment for the 7-8th grade team.). The 5-6th grade team will play 8 v. 8 without a goalie.
A full set of rules for each division are being developed at this time.
Recreation Field Hockey League
Due to low enrollment, Farmington's 5th & 6th Grade will combine with the Town of Avon while the 7th & 8th grade will combine with the Town of Burlington. Registrations may not be accepted after August 10th.
Hershey's Track & Field Youth Program
Run! Jump! Throw! Get involved in one of the largest North American youth sports programs for children ages 9 - 14. Flyers will be distributed through the Farmington Public School System in May. Your child's registration form should be returned to their Physical Education teacher.
