In 2025, the Town Council appointed an Ad Hoc Sidewalk Committee to evaluate how best to address sidewalk needs across Town. This is a complex, long-term effort which includes educating residents about the existing sidewalk ordinance, surveying the community on priorities, and developing cost estimates for potential Town-funded sidewalk programs.
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the Committee will hold a public informational meeting in the Yates Room, located at the Farmington Police Department (319 New Britain Ave) on the existing sidewalk ordinance and on the Town’s current practices.
Following a brief presentation, attendees will participate in breakout discussions to share their perspectives on the current ordinance and their preferences for future approaches.
