The Tunxis Mead Compost Area (located at the end of Tunxis Mead Road) is open year-round on Wednesdays from 8am - 12pm, weather permitting.
New for 2026
During the winter months of January, February, and March, the Tunxis Mead Compost Area will be open on the 2nd Saturday of each month, 8:00am - 12:00pm, weather permitting.
Winter 2026 dates will be as follows:
- January 10, 2026,
- February 14, 2026
- March 14, 2026
Normal Saturday hours will resume March 28, 2026.
