The Connecticut Department of Transportation has notified the Town of Farmington that Automated Work Zone Speed Control equipment will be operating in the community on I-84 beginning the week of June 22, 2026.

The equipment will be in place for approximately two weeks as part of ongoing roadway maintenance operations. During June, the system will issue warnings to vehicles traveling 10 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit. Citations and monetary fines are expected to begin on or after July 5, 2026.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and “Know the Zone” when traveling through active work areas.
