Construction Projects In-Progress:
- Westwoods Recreational Complex - Project Scope and Timeline
- Vegetation Management (June 2025) - Eversource, through its approved and licensed contractors, will be performing vegetation management work within the cleared areas of the right-of-way through the selective application of approved herbicides. Eversource uses federally approved, state-registered herbicides by state-licensed applicators in a prescribed and targeted manner to control the incompatible vegetation. Residents abutting the right-of-way will be notified by the contractor. All personnel involved will carry proper identification. This work will not interrupt electric services. A map of Vegetation Management Work in Farmington can be viewed here.
- Town of Farmington Road Repair & Reconstruction Plan - Updated January 2025
- Burlington Road Reconstruction Project - The Town of Farmington has been awarded funding under the State of Connecticut LOTCIP program for the Burlington Road Reconstruction Project. The purpose of the project is to provide a consistent pavement, lane, and shoulder widths, an improved drainage system, and improve pavement conditions. Construction on Burlington Road has concluded for the year; the project will resume in early Spring of 2025 for the remaining drainage work, road excavation and paving. Please reach out to Dylan Reilly (ReillyD@farmington-ct.org) with any questions regarding the project.
Construction Plans
- State Project #51-0272: Unionville Bridge Rehabilitation Project - The CT Department of Transportation started this project in March 2021. During construction, they discovered that the structural steel for the sidewalk support and railings were in worse condition than anticipated requiring a redesign. Paving of the bridge was completed on September 19, 2023.
- Meadow Road Sidewalk Project - The Town is currently working on the design for a new sidewalk that will be constructed on Meadow Road beginning at the intersection of New Britain Avenue and continuing to Wisteria Lane. The Meadow Road Sidewalk Project has been partially funded through the State of Connecticut’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) and the grant is being administered through the Department of Transportation. Once the design is completed the project will move through the required state and local permits/approvals. After receiving the necessary approvals, the project will move to construction through the bidding process.
