We want to alert our applicants to a recent scam targeting individuals by impersonating The Planning and Zoning Department.
What’s happening:
We’ve been made aware of fraudulent messages (via email) going out to applicants requiring additional application fees for an application to be approved.
What you should know:
- We never ask for additional payments through wire transfer. .
- All email communications will come verified channels, such as Farmington-ct.org or from OpenGov.com.
- If you receive any suspicious communication, do not click on any links or provide any information.
What to do if you're contacted:
- Do not respond.
- Take a screenshot or copy the message.
- Report it to us immediately at 860-675-2325.
We take your security seriously and are actively working to stop these scams. Please remain vigilant and contact us if you have any concerns.
The Conservation Commission is responsible for promoting the development and conservation of natural resources, including water resources. The commission is also responsible for reviewing applications involving significant activity within wetlands or watercourses. The Commission also reviews land use applications to provide advisory recommendations to the Town Planning and Zoning Commission on environmental and conservation related elements of these projects.
The Inland Wetlands Commission is responsible for the permitting of all regulated activities conducted upon or upland of an inland wetland or watercourse, as those terms are defined in the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act of the State of Connecticut and in the Farmington Regulations for Inland Wetlands, within the Town of Farmington.
