Individuals getting married in Connecticut must obtain their marriage license no more than 65 days before the wedding from the Town Clerk's office in which the marriage is to take place. If you are getting married in the Town of Farmington, you must apply for your Marriage License in the Farmington Town Clerk's office.  The couple must apply in person for the license, but they do not have to appear together. Photo ID is required.

Application for Certified Copies of a Marriage License
The fee for a certified copy of marriage license is $20.00 per copy. When requesting a  certified copy of your own marriage license, containing your social security numbers, you must include a copy of your photo ID. To download an application for a certified copy of a marriage license please click here. 

Expedited processing service for certified copies of a Marriage License is also available for an additional fee for requests ordered on-line via VitalChek. VitalChek, a third party vendor approved by the CT DPH, allows customers to order certificates from Farmington through either a toll free telephone number or on-line.
